I concur. Not that I've crocheted a purse myself, but I have one of the ones that Miss Athena made, and alas the strap has stretched out enough so that it is about knee length. :) I need to shorten it up a bit, but you know how lazy I am...

One note on the strap! If you're doing the two straps like in the pattern, just follow the pattern, BUT if you're doing a single strap TAKE HEED MY WARNING! :) Remember that your srap is going to stretch (a lot) with wear, so make sure to make it a little shorter than YOU THINK it needs to be, AND finish the edges when it's done. What I mean by that is single crochet across each side of the strap and attch it to the purse by continuting the rim of the "bucket" of the purse until you're back to where you started. This will help with keeping the stretch somewhat contained. If this doesn't make sense, or I'm going crazy call or email, and I'll try to be more clear. I made a purse that I measured where I wanted it to hang on my body, and I ended up having to bunch it up and sew up at the top (you can see it if you look at the photo closely). Anyway, just don't want anyone to make the same mistake I did! ;)
