Well it is apparent that none of the previous comentators has children.

I wish I had a nickel for everything that has been borrowed and either never put back where it belongs, or lost completely.

I guess no one ever puts things away in my house but me or husband.
and yes, i HATE if people ask for your opinion and then argue with me. don’t ask me if you think i might give an answer other than the one you want!

I hate it when people leave me a note stuck to my door that says “Can I move my computer off the cart onto my desk? I have to unplug it,” around 2 PM on a Friday, and then around 3:00 I find another note in my mailbox (just down the hall) that basically says the same thing, except “I NEED TO UNPLUG IT” is all in caps. I decided if I found yet another note tucked under my car’s windshield, that I was going to take her computer, and not give it back.
Oh, and it bothered me in my old apartment when people would ignore the cupboard with the obvious everyday glassware (ie the one right next to the fridge, where you might find tasty, cold beverages) and go find the cupboard with the pint glasses and use those instead.

I hate all those things too. Esp. not getting the phone call, and wasting an entire day/afternoon/evening NOT doing something in anticipation of doing something.
At least someone made the effort to wash it and put it away, instead of either putting it back (or hiding it) dirty, or just leaving it for you to take care of. I’m not so sure the execution is much of a help, but the intention was at least there.
And when someone asks you for your expertise/opinion on something, you should just be as vague as possible. Maybe start out with, “Why do you want to know?” in a particularly defensive tone. Then if and when you present your answer, give it as circuitously as possible.
My advice is free.

Someone comes over, takes a spoon out of the drawer (where all of the spoons are), uses it, washes it, and puts it away in the cupboard on the other side of the kitchen. ?!?! So the magic gnomes can move them back to the drawer the next time you look for one?

Well as a person that never gets callbacks, I definitely agree with that last sentiment.
“You said you were going to call me if you went to see a movie.”
“Well we ended up not going, but went to a bar and had an awesome time.”
“Apparently I didn’t want to do that, huh?”
Though I have no idea what you are talking about with the spoon…Was it used and then put back or what are you talking about?!
