It’s a small world afterall…
My mother in law had surgery yesterday to remove a large cyst named Bob. All reports are that she is doing well, and should have a good recovery. After updating me, my father in law had this to say about her doctor:
I met Dr. Todd Dillard in the hallway after the surgery and he related a story to me about a Mr. Lewis who had taught him science at Howard High School, in Columbia, Maryland and that he was the person who inspired him to go into science and then medicine. “In fact,” he said “this Mr. Lewis was the most inspirational teacher I ever had, including the teachers at Johns Hopkins Medical School where I did my pre-med.” Then he said, “You even look a lot like the Mr. Lewis I’m telling you about.”
I answered, “He is my older brother Donald and I will pass the story of our wonderful encounter back to him when I tell him about Mary Lou.”
“Please do;” he said, “and tell him exactly what I said. He is the reason that I am a Doctor and give him my best wishes.”
It looks like the West coast Lewises are receiving the pay back of Dr. Donald Lewis’ life long efforts as a High School Science, Physics and Chemistry teacher.
Very truly, JohnL

Reading the first line I thought you were going to tell us that your in-laws were getting a divorce.
Assuming your father-in-law was named Bob, of course.

Heh. No. They’re just weird enough to name a cyst.

yay! I can’t believe that, thanks for sharing! I can’t cry, because I keep thinking about a cyst named Bob, but it is really amazing. I love life…
