Just don’t ask me to chew gum…

I discovered a new talent yesterday. I can walk and crochet at the same time! Whoo! I’m in a pool with a group of friends to see who can exercise the most in 2 months. 10 people, $5/session. $50 GC to the winner. So I’ve been walking to and from lunch more and parking on the far side of campus and walking to the building occasionally. Yesterday I really wanted to work on my bag over lunch and took it with me, wondering if I could get any useful crochetting in. I managed to get another inch or so on it, and I’m 2.5″ further than in the pictures that I posted. It’ll be done in no time!
On our way back from lunch yesterday, we saw a very irate VW Golf driver attempt to run over a pedestrian crossing the street. Multiple times. He backed up and came after the pedestrian a few times, even driving up onto the sidewalk. He drove off and parked halfway down the block and got out of the car, barefoot, to scream and gesticulate wildly at the pedestrian. No idea what transpired, but it was wierd. We stuck around long enough to make sure the driver left and the pedestrian continued on his merry way unharmed. And they say Davis is safe…

Wow, now that’s talent. Where was the ball of nylon you were using while you were walking? How are you keeping track of the most exercise?
Too bad you didn’t see what caused the driver to be so irate. It may have been much more interesting with the whole story.

She is apparently keeping track of the most exercise by leaving a trail of yarn wherever she goes and measuring the length of the strand. :)
Which also solves the “Where was the ball of nylon” question.

That is why I love crochet! See and making purses is handy because you can keep the roll of nylon in the purse your working on! ;) I had to stop taking my stuff to work on over lunch. People (my male coworkers) would give me looks when I busted it out, like at the thai buffet! ;)

I’ve felt like running over a pedestrian in that manner, but never -actually- attempted such a display.

Although I would give you a look if you had, I haven’t…so don’t include me in your generalization there…

I carry a shoulder bag thing with my phone, wallet, keys, etc and just plopped the roll of nylon in there with the tail coming out through a gap in the zipper. I’m always taking my crochet to lunch to work on it before the food arrives.
There’s a spreadsheet for us to all fill out how much we do on a daily basis. It’s largely on the honor system, but we trust each other. I have to say, I liked Tim’s theory better, though :)
