Monday, not too bad

Today was one of those days that makes me wonder why I’m referred to as a “stay at home mom.” We got up, dressed, breakfasted and took care of preschool drop off before heading to the husband’s office to drop off the other child so I could go to my follow up appointment with my orthopod. Saw him, retrived child, headed to Target and waited out the nap taking place in the back seat. Picked up what could only be described as essentials, then back to pick up the preschoolian. The children napped for about and hour, then we hung out at home to get snacks and breathe for a minute before heading to the park to meet up with school friends. Then time for dinner (salmon cakes, curried carrot soup and bread) followed by bed.

The appintment this morning went well, and was quick to boot. My knee isn’t 100%, but is certainly overall improving, FINALLY! Physical therapy starts back up on Thursday. My father-in-law will come up to hang out and wrangle children – time they all enjoy.

When I did preschool pickup, one of my son’s classmates told me if I came back at the end of the schoolday, they were all going to the park and we should come. It was very cute! We met up with a bunch of classmates last week, and it was fun, but bitterly cold at 40F. What can I say? We’re from California, we’re wusses! The wind blew all day, but the weather was clear and gorgeous and dare I say, spring-like! The kids all had a grand time at the park, and I really enjoyed getting to know more of the school families. We’ve lived in this town for nearly 7 years and in this county for over 14, but this is one of the few times I’ve really felt a part of a community. Not just someone coexisting or sharing a projrct, but really part of something. It’s hard to explain, I guess, but it was a really good feeling. We/I have some amazing friends, don’t get me wrong, but it felt like I was a part of something, and something the whole family could enjoy.

*warm fuzzies*

Sniff. I thought our little group was “community” too. Sniff.

    You got me wrong. :)

That is something that *I* am a part of, but it’s not something that our whole family participates in.
