Not that I was planning on seeing it anyway…

The reviews of the new movie “Gigli” with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are Not Good. I haven’t seen one good review, which is not entirely surprising, what with dialog like this:

Among its biggest problems is a love scene in which Lopez spreads her legs and tells a smoldering Affleck, “It’s turkey time. Gobble, gobble.”

Uhm. Yeah.

In other cinamatic news, I saw Pirates of the Carribean last week, and it gets a hearty two thumbs up. It’s definitely brain candy and definitely a “suspend disbelief for a few hours to enjoy it” kinda movie, but well worth the $3 matinee admission. Hell, I’d even pay full price for this one. I was going to put a link to Diane’s review on it here, but it’s the first of the month and last month’s archives are in purgatory, apparently.

I’m thinking about going to see Seabiscuit, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about it from other people, while the critics seem to love it. Maybe I’ll have to catch a $3 matinee again.

I haven’t been to see a Movie since…since…I was dragged to go see …something, mustuv been that good. It could have been X-Men, but I think i’ve seen something since then, but I can’t be sure. I want to see Pirates, but only because EVERYBODY, and I mean EVERYBODY I know has raved about it. Personally, I gave the previews two thumbs down, and thought “There’s no way in hell I’m going to see that movie, it looks totally LAME”, but it’s a rare thing when EVERYBODY (people I barely even know) reccomend this movie. So, I think I’m going to drag a few people out there tonight to go see it. If it sucks, I swear you’ll all never hear the end of it! :) There is NO other movie I have any desire to see right now.

Perhaps Jersey Girl will fare better?

I liked Pirates. I went with Diane and Kris while I was in Savannah. It was the only movie we went to see.
Last movie I saw before that in the theater was Nemo. Liked that too.
    I’m easily entertained.

  5. tim Says:

Ooh Jersey Girl? when does that come out?

  6. Sarah Says:

Whaaat? You didn’t tell me you went to see Pirates?! After all my, erm, encouraging to do so?
    Sheesh.
Orlando Bloom, minus dead caterpillar on upper lip, is my hero.

  7. Trina Says:

Hrm. Did I forget to mention that? Ewps. Well, I saw Pirates :) Thanks for the recommendation. I remember telling myself to remember to tell you there is such a thing as a cute long haired guy, but I must have forgotten that, too. ;)

tim, I linked the words Jersey girl in my last comment to the official site. 2004 is the year it’s set to come out, you can get the poop on it at moviepoopshoot.com. :)

  9. Sarah Says:

HA! Told you! HAHAHA. I mean, the long haired guy thing.

Add this to your list: Hugh Jackman with long hair for Van Helsing. *drool*
    There are pictures somewhere. Ah.

Dude – Maddy. She doesn’t dig long haired men.
    Weirdo that she is.

  12. Maddy Says:

I’m sorry, but you have to dig Hugh Jackman with long hair.
    It’s true.

  13. Sarah Says:

Mm. Hugh with long hair. Well, she dug Orlando… maybe we can convince her to dig Hugh.
